Four Suspects Arrested for Assaulting Bnei Sakhnin Players After Maccabi Netanya Match

Israeli police have arrested four suspects, including two minors and two adults, following violent incidents after a football match between Maccabi Netanya and Bnei Sakhnin at the Miriam Stadium in Netanya. The violence erupted as fans were leaving the stadium, with suspects attacking Bnei Sakhnin players and fans. The suspects also assaulted passengers in vehicles and smashed car windows amid traffic congestion near the stadium.

The two minors were questioned and subsequently banned from attending football matches, while the two adults were brought before a court to extend their detention. Maccabi Netanya condemned the violence, stating that such behavior contradicts the club's values and harms the spirit of sport and its loyal fan base.

Bnei Sakhnin's management also denounced the attacks, urging the police to thoroughly investigate and hold the perpetrators accountable, emphasizing the severity and potential danger of the incidents. Eran Calfon, chairman of the Israeli Football Leagues Administration, called on law enforcement to protect players, fans, and officials, and to act swiftly and firmly against offenders to ensure they face imprisonment.

The police continue their investigation into the events, aiming to prevent further violence and maintain safety around football matches in Israel.
