Israeli Police Arrest Four Suspects in Attack on Bnei Sakhnin Players After Match

Following a violent incident after the football match between Maccabi Netanya and Bnei Sakhnin on August 24, Israeli police arrested four suspects connected to attacks on players and fans. The incident occurred as crowds were leaving the stadium in Netanya, where a group of Netanya supporters assaulted Bnei Sakhnin players, including Iyad Abu Abid, and damaged vehicles by smashing their windows amid traffic congestion near the stadium.

Police from the Netanya station in the Sharon district launched an immediate investigation and deployed forces to stop the violence and prevent further clashes. Overnight, investigators used technological means to identify and apprehend four suspects: two minors and two adults. The minors were interrogated and subsequently banned from attending football matches, while the adults were brought to court for a detention extension hearing. The investigation is ongoing to hold all involved accountable.
