Israel Beach Volleyball Championship Kicks Off at Tel Aviv's Frishman Beach

The Israeli Beach Volleyball Championship is set to take place from August 27 to 29 at Frishman Beach in Tel Aviv-Yafo, marking the highlight of the Israeli beach volleyball season. The event, organized in collaboration with the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality and the Israeli Volleyball Association, will feature 32 top pairs, 16 men's teams and 16 women's teams, competing in a highly anticipated tournament.

Among the standout participants are Ilan Elazar and Kevin Kozmitzov, the reigning champions of the prestigious Challenge tournament in Xiamen, China, currently ranked 16th worldwide. Their return to the Israeli championship after several years is expected to elevate the competition's level and provide spectators with an international-caliber viewing experience.

Tel Aviv-Yafo is recognized as Israel's beach sports capital, boasting 51 public beach volleyball and footvolley courts along its coastline, all equipped with lighting and accessible around the clock. The city also hosts various beach sports events year-round, including national championships in footvolley, matkot, and other beach activities, which have become integral to the local beach culture.

Deputy Mayor Tzipi Brand emphasized the beach's role as a vibrant sports hub, inviting residents and visitors to join the celebration of athletic excellence and the unique atmosphere of Tel Aviv-Yafo's coastline. Zohar Bar Netser, CEO of the Israeli Volleyball Association, praised the tournament's high quality and the participation of internationally experienced players, encouraging the public to attend and enjoy top-tier beach volleyball in a lively setting.
