Israel Beach Volleyball Championship Kicks Off at Tel Aviv's Frishman Beach

The Israeli Beach Volleyball Championship is set to take place from August 27 to 29 at Frishman Beach in Tel Aviv-Yafo, marking a highlight of the beach volleyball season in Israel. The event is organized in cooperation with the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality and the Israeli Volleyball Association, and will feature 32 top pairs, including 16 men's and 16 women's teams.

Among the competitors, Ilan Elazar and Kevin Kozmitzov, ranked 16th globally and recent winners of the prestigious Challenge tournament in Xiamen, China, will return to the national championship after several years. Their participation is expected to elevate the competition's level and provide spectators with an international-caliber viewing experience.

Tel Aviv-Yafo is recognized as Israel's beach sports capital, boasting 51 public beach volleyball and footvolley courts along its coastline, all accessible day and night with lighting. The city also hosts various beach sports events year-round, including national championships in footvolley, matkot, and other activities that have become integral to its beach culture.

Deputy Mayor Tzipi Brand emphasized the beach's role as a vibrant sports arena and cultural hub, inviting residents and visitors to join the celebration. Zohar Bar Netzer, CEO of the Israeli Volleyball Association, predicted a high-quality tournament, highlighting the mix of top domestic and internationally experienced players and encouraging the public to enjoy the unique atmosphere and top-level beach volleyball at Frishman Beach.
