Former Minister Elazar Stern Joins Gadi Eizenkot's Yashar Party

Elazar Stern, a former minister and Knesset member, announced on Monday his decision to join the Yashar party led by Gadi Eizenkot. Stern expressed his long-standing trust in Eizenkot's leadership, describing him as a leader who prioritizes the country's welfare over political or personal considerations. Stern emphasized the need for reliable, experienced leadership in Israel during these challenging times.

Gadi Eizenkot welcomed Stern's addition, highlighting Stern's decades of dedication to Israel's security and public service. Eizenkot noted that Stern's principled and courageous voice is especially important amid current political polarization and challenges to statehood.

About two weeks prior, Stern announced his departure from the Yesh Atid party and his resignation from the Knesset after serving over ten years as a member and also holding the position of Minister of Intelligence. In his resignation statement, Stern described Yesh Atid as a political home that allowed him to express his views and maintain hope for a future where Israel's Jewish identity is unifying rather than divisive.
