Beloved Jewish Teacher and Mother Dies After SUV Crashes Into Long Island Pool

Allison Rahmani, a well-known Jewish educator and mother of four in Long Island, New York, died in a tragic accident last Friday. While backing out of her driveway in Hewlett, Nassau County, Rahmani lost control of her SUV, which then crashed into a tree and plunged into her backyard swimming pool. Despite managing to call for help from inside the submerged vehicle, she succumbed to her injuries en route to the hospital.

Rahmani was a respected math coordinator and teacher at the Jewish Academy of Five Towns and Rockaway (HAFTR). Her husband, Matthew Rahmani, serves as president of the modern Orthodox synagogue Irving Place Minyan in Woodmere. The local Jewish community expressed deep shock and grief, remembering her as a radiant and kind presence who positively impacted everyone around her.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the accident. Rahmani's funeral is scheduled for the following day. Social media tributes poured in, highlighting her warmth and the significant void her passing leaves in the community.
