Former Female Police Officer Suspected of Sexual Crimes After Impersonating Man Released to House Arrest
A former female police officer suspected of impersonating a man and committing sexual offenses has been released to house arrest for ten days by the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court after nearly two weeks in custody. The suspect is accused of rape and indecent acts, with the prosecution expected to file serious charges against her soon. During the hearing, the suspect revealed she served two years in the police force and claimed her actions stemmed from a low point in her life, expressing a desire to return home and cooperate with the investigation.
The police allege that the women involved consented to sexual acts under false pretenses, believing they were interacting with a man named "Orel Hazan," a persona created by the suspect. Investigators suspect the pattern of deception and abuse may have persisted for years and are currently questioning additional women who may have been similarly affected. So far, five women have provided testimonies, with one stating she maintained a romantic relationship for months before discovering the person was a woman.
The case surfaced on July 26 when several women in their twenties reported to the police station with similar accounts of being deceived online. The suspect's lawyer, Erez Bar Tzvi, expressed satisfaction with the release conditions and stated confidence that the case would be closed without charges once all facts are clarified.
