Man Arrested for Attempted Murder of Ex-Wife and Daughter in Ramla Stabbing

A court in Rishon Lezion extended the detention of Suleiman Abu Amar by four days following his arrest for the stabbing attack on his ex-wife and their 19-year-old daughter near a pavilion on HaTamar Street in Ramla last Friday. The daughter sustained serious injuries, while the mother was moderately wounded. Authorities are investigating whether the attack was premeditated or spontaneous, with police noting the nature and location of the wounds suggest deliberate intent to kill. Abu Amar has a prior criminal record and is currently subject to a suspended prison sentence. During his interrogation, he largely avoided addressing the stabbing incident. He faces charges including attempted murder, illegal possession of a knife, threats, assault, and obstruction of justice. The court ruled he will remain in custody until August 26, as police continue their investigation, including suspicions of evidence tampering at the crime scene.
