Maccabi Tel Aviv's Roy Revivo Commits to Club Despite Dream of Playing Abroad

Roy Revivo, the Maccabi Tel Aviv defender, addressed his future with the club ahead of their Israeli Premier League season opener against Hapoel Jerusalem at the Rehovot Stadium. In an Instagram post, Revivo acknowledged his dream of playing in Europe but emphasized his commitment to Maccabi Tel Aviv as long as he remains with the team. "It's no secret that my dream is to play abroad, but let it be clear to everyone: as long as I'm here, I feel committed and will do everything for the team and our fans," he wrote.

Revivo's statement comes amid ongoing speculation about his future. Holding a contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv that includes a club option for an additional season, he expressed his desire to move to Europe during the summer. Recently, he was linked to a transfer to Spanish club Elche, but the deal did not materialize. Maccabi Tel Aviv is keen to retain him and is prepared to offer a significantly improved contract, including a salary increase, but first wants to clarify whether Revivo intends to stay in Israel or pursue a move abroad.

Revivo is expected to start in tonight's match against Hapoel Jerusalem and will then travel with the team to Batumi for the Conference League return leg against FC Lugano on Thursday. This match will mark his first appearance in Israel in front of Maccabi fans since he was left out of the squad in the loss to CSKA Sofia.
