7-Year-Old Boy Critically Injured After Being Trapped Under Bus in Bnei Brak
A 7-year-old boy was seriously injured on Sunday afternoon in Bnei Brak after being caught under a passing bus while riding his bicycle. The accident occurred around 1:30 PM at the busy intersection of Ezra Street and Rabbi Kahaneman Street, a central and heavily trafficked area in the ultra-Orthodox city.
Emergency medical teams from United Hatzalah and Magen David Adom (MDA) arrived promptly and conducted a dramatic rescue operation to free the boy trapped beneath the bus. He suffered severe multi-system injuries, including trauma to his abdomen, limbs, and head. After being carefully extracted, he was rushed in critical condition to the trauma unit at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, with medical staff stabilizing him en route.
Paramedics Yishai Zitron and Yehuda Nordman described the scene as extremely complex and urgent, noting the boy was unconscious and severely injured when they arrived. United Hatzalah volunteers Akiva Kaufman, Israel Slav, and Nachman Aharoni provided initial treatment, emphasizing the critical nature of the rapid medical response.
Due to the emergency, Ezra Street was temporarily closed to traffic to allow safe operations for rescue teams. Police and traffic investigators are currently examining the circumstances of the accident, collecting witness statements, and reviewing the bus’s route and actions at the time of the incident.
