Jonathan Pollard Joins Israel Our Home Party Ahead of Elections

Jonathan Pollard has officially joined the Israel Our Home party, led by Member of Knesset Sharren Haskel, in preparation for the upcoming elections. The announcement was made during a joint statement near the Western Wall in Jerusalem, where Pollard expressed his trust in the party's Zionist and national leadership. Pollard, who previously worked in the U.S. Navy's intelligence division and was convicted in 1987 for passing classified information to Israel, served 30 years in American prison before immigrating to Israel. Despite his past, he emphasized his enduring commitment to the Jewish people and the State of Israel, stating, "I believe in Sharren. And I believe in Israel." He highlighted the need for courageous Zionist leadership that prioritizes Israel's security and unapologetically embraces Jewish identity.

MK Sharren Haskel welcomed Pollard's support, calling it a significant boost from a national hero who paid a heavy personal price. She reiterated the party's dedication to strengthening Jewish settlement and safeguarding Jerusalem. Retired Lieutenant Colonel Roy Danino also praised Pollard's addition as reinforcing the party's national path focused on state security. Pollard's political involvement had been hinted at earlier in the summer, and this formal affiliation marks his entry into Israel's political arena.
