Detroit sisters charged after restaurant worker stabbed in dispute over wrong order
Two sisters from Detroit, Michigan, are accused of violently attacking a 23-year-old restaurant worker after an argument over a mistaken food order at a local steakhouse at the end of May. Prosecutors say one of the sisters was nine months pregnant at the time of the incident.
According to the complaint, Briana Long, 29, and Kiarriana Long, 26, ran behind the counter, threw objects at the employee, chased her through the restaurant, hit her with pots and pans, and tried to pour boiling oil on her. During the assault, one sister allegedly shouted, “I’m going to kill you.”
Police said Kiarriana Long then stabbed the worker in the stomach with a knife. The injured employee managed to flee the restaurant, hide in a stranger’s car, call for help, and was taken to hospital for surgery.
The sisters escaped after the attack but were later arrested. They face multiple serious charges, including assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, and assault with a dangerous weapon. Their lawyers argued in court that the worker started the fight by saying she did not care about order mistakes and throwing objects and knives first. Both women deny the allegations. Briana Long was released on $25,000 bail, and Kiarriana Long on $100,000 bail.
