Eran Sassi Named Head Coach of Ironi Modi'in
Eran Sassi has been appointed head coach of Ironi Modi'in in Israel's National League, Sport 5 reported first. The move follows the club's search after Michael Zandberg and Guy Tzarfati turned it down, according to the report.
Sassi arrives after a short stint at Hapoel Kfar Shalem late last season, where he replaced Yaron Heichenboim. Before that, he served briefly as an interim coach at Bnei Yehuda.
Most of Sassi's career has been spent in youth football, working as a professional director, CEO and coach. This will be the first time he begins a season as a coach in the National League.
The report also noted that newly relegated M.S. Ashdod remains the only National League club that has not officially announced a head coach, although Jacky Ben Zaken and Nir Biton are already building the squad for the club's return from the Premier League.
