Resident Liel Ifergan Arrested for Killing 7-Year-Old in Beit Shemesh

Liel Ifergan, a 26-year-old resident of Beit Shemesh, is the prime suspect in the stabbing murder of 7-year-old Hillel Mordechai Dadon and the stabbing of his 4-year-old cousin earlier this week. Ifergan was arrested shortly after the incident, and his detention was extended by four days on Friday.

According to police investigations, Ifergan, who lives near the children’s home, arrived at the location hours before the attack, briefly spoke with the homeowner, then left. He returned several hours later, saw the children playing in an inflatable pool in the yard, and stabbed them.

Deputy Head of the Jerusalem District Investigation Unit, Chief Inspector Guy Avrahami, described the scene as very difficult and said the investigation is focused on understanding Ifergan’s motive. Authorities are continuing to gather evidence to uncover the full circumstances and ensure the suspect faces the full extent of the law.

Hillel Mordechai Dadon was laid to rest on Tuesday at the "Derech HaChaim" cemetery in Beit Shemesh. His father, Reuven Edri, mourned his son, expressing sorrow and wishing he could turn back time to protect him.
