Liel Ifargan Named Suspect in Hallel Dadon Murder in Beit Shemesh

Israeli authorities have identified Liel Israel Ifargan, 26, as the suspect in the murder of Hallel Mordechai Dadon in Beit Shemesh. Ifargan lives just a few houses away from the crime scene. Police investigations revealed that he arrived near the victims' apartment hours before the attack and returned later to commit the stabbing.

Ifargan has no prior psychiatric diagnosis and is not under mental health treatment. After his arrest, an initial evaluation found him fit to remain in custody, with a more thorough assessment regarding his fitness to stand trial planned. The police investigation, which was previously under a gag order, detailed that Ifargan had a brief conversation with the apartment's landlord before leaving and then returning hours later to stab two children playing outside.

The police continue to investigate the full circumstances of the incident. The court has extended Ifargan's detention until Tuesday at the request of the police to complete necessary investigative procedures.
