Father of 2022 Tel Aviv Shooter Killed in Jenin After Attempted Attack on Soldier

A security source confirmed that the militant killed in Jenin after attempting to stab an Israeli soldier is Fathi Hazem, the father of Raad Hazem. Raad Hazem carried out the deadly shooting attack on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv in April 2022, which resulted in the deaths of three Israelis. Raad's attack, which targeted the bar "HaIlka," claimed the lives of Tomer Morad, Eitam Magini, and Barak Lofen.

Fathi Hazem, a former senior officer in the Palestinian security apparatus, became widely known to the Israeli public shortly after his son's identity was revealed. Following Raad's death, Fathi Hazem incited the Palestinian public against Israel. In a passionate speech delivered from his home balcony to hundreds of mourners, which went viral among Palestinians, he declared, "May Allah cleanse Al-Aqsa Mosque from the impurity of the occupiers."
