Israeli Soldier Foils Knife Attack in Jenin, Assailant Killed
An armed assailant attempted to stab an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldier in Jenin during a military operation on Friday night. The soldier responded with gunfire, killing the attacker. The IDF confirmed that no Israeli forces were injured in the incident.
Earlier in the week, Israeli security forces conducted a large-scale brigade-level operation in the village of Kafr Qabatiya near Jenin. During this operation, approximately 100 buildings were searched, suspects were arrested, and additional individuals were interrogated. Concurrently, special forces from the Duvdevan Unit, guided by precise intelligence from the Shin Bet security service, operated in Kafr Qabatiya and the Far'a refugee camp.
As a result of these coordinated efforts, two militants were detained on suspicion of planning and advancing terror attacks targeting Israeli civilians and IDF personnel. These operations are part of ongoing efforts to prevent terrorist activities in the West Bank region.
