Two Teen Brothers Charged After Stabbing 14-Year-Old Leaving Him Paralyzed in Northern Israel
Two teenage brothers, aged 15 and 16, have been indicted for the stabbing and assault of a 14-year-old boy at a soccer field in Yafia near Nazareth. The incident occurred shortly after a prior confrontation between one of the accused and the victim. Although they initially reconciled, the brothers later returned armed with a commando knife, brass knuckles, and pepper spray. During the attack, one brother struck the victim on the head with brass knuckles while the other sprayed pepper spray at the victim and others trying to intervene. The assault continued after the boy fell to the ground, with one brother stabbing him three times, once in the neck and twice in the back, with intent to kill, according to the prosecution.
The victim was seriously injured, requiring sedation and ventilation for several days, and now suffers paralysis on the left side of his body, relying on a wheelchair. The brothers fled the scene but surrendered to police after hiding for about two weeks. The Northern District Prosecutor's Office filed a severe indictment against them at the Nazareth Juvenile Court, charging both with aggravated assault, obstruction of justice, and illegal possession of weapons. One brother faces additional charges of attempted murder and threats. The case was brought forward by the Northern District Police and prosecuted by attorney Ragad Shdafna.
This violent episode highlights ongoing youth violence issues in the region and the legal system's swift response to serious juvenile crimes. The victim is currently undergoing long-term rehabilitation due to the lasting impact of his injuries.
