Body of Missing 24-Year-Old Found in Tiberias' Switzerland Forest After Weeklong Search
Katriel Nachman Keinan, a 24-year-old man who disappeared in Tiberias over a week ago, was found dead on Thursday in the Switzerland Forest near the city. Police forces and volunteer search teams located his body in the wooded area, and the circumstances of his death are currently under investigation.
Keinan was last seen on the previous Monday around 6 p.m. near the Guy Beach area. Police investigations revealed that earlier that day he had been at Mount Meron, traveled to Safed, and then arrived in Tiberias. Security camera footage captured him at the central bus station in Tiberias walking toward the tombs of Rambam and Rabbi Meir Baal Haness. His mobile phone's last signal was recorded that evening, after which all contact was lost.
Throughout the search, Keinan's family expressed deep concern for his wellbeing. His brother, Daniel, recounted their last conversation when Katriel was en route to Safed and mentioned his phone battery was low. Daniel emphasized that it was very uncharacteristic for Katriel to disappear without a trace. The search efforts concluded tragically with the discovery of his body in the forested area.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of death as the community mourns the loss of the young man.
