Body of Missing 24-Year-Old Found in Tiberias’ Switzerland Forest After Weeklong Search
After more than a week of intensive searching and growing concern for his safety, the body of 24-year-old Katriel Nachman Keinan was discovered on Thursday in the Switzerland Forest near Tiberias. Keinan had gone missing last Monday around 6 p.m. near the Guy Beach area. Police forces and volunteer search teams located his body in the wooded area, and the circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation.
According to police inquiries, Keinan was last seen traveling from Mount Meron to Safed before arriving in Tiberias. Security cameras captured him at the central bus station heading toward the tombs of Rambam and Rabbi Meir Baal Haness. His mobile phone’s last signal was recorded that same evening, after which all contact was lost.
Keinan’s family expressed deep worry throughout the search. His brother Daniel recounted their last conversation when Keinan was en route to Safed, mentioning his phone battery was low and that his disappearance was highly unusual. The search efforts concluded tragically with the discovery of his body in the forested area near the city.
