Motorcyclist Dies in Crash Near Ono Interchange on Road 471
A motorcyclist in his 60s died Thursday afternoon after being hit by a car on Road 471 near the Ono interchange. Paramedics from Magen David Adom (MDA) arrived at the scene and performed advanced resuscitation efforts, but the rider was pronounced dead at the site. Paramedics Geffen Oshishkin, Netanel Engel, and Eyal Atiya reported the victim was found unconscious with severe injuries and no pulse or breathing.
The police have opened an investigation into the accident. This fatality follows a series of serious traffic incidents in northern and central Israel the previous day. On Wednesday evening, a 60-year-old man was killed and two others were seriously injured in a collision between two vehicles near Haifa on the Coastal Road.
Shortly after, a motorcyclist in his 30s was critically injured in Tel Aviv, and a 22-year-old motorcyclist was seriously hurt in Haifa after being struck by a car. MDA paramedics at the Haifa scene described multiple victims with severe trauma, including the deceased man and two others in critical condition, who were treated and transported to hospital. The Tel Aviv motorcyclist was also treated on site for a severe head injury before being rushed to the hospital.
These incidents highlight ongoing road safety challenges in Israel, with emergency services responding to multiple severe crashes within a short timeframe.
