Direct Flights Between Israel and Morocco Resume After Three Years
After a three-year hiatus, direct flights between Israel and Morocco have resumed. Arkia Airlines restarted its direct route from Tel Aviv to Marrakech, with the inaugural flight landing in Marrakech last night. The event was attended by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Transportation Minister Miri Regev, Transportation Ministry CEO Moshe Ben Zaken, Israel Airports Authority Director Yiftach Ron-Tal, and Arkia CEO Oz Berlovitz. Currently, two direct flights per week are planned on this route.
The resumption follows months of coordination between Israeli and Moroccan aviation and security authorities. Marrakech is a key tourist destination in Morocco, and the return of direct flights allows Israeli travelers to reach the city without layovers. This development comes after a period when direct flight options were limited due to the suspension of Israeli airlines operating the route.
Israir Airlines also plans to restart direct flights to Marrakech starting September 1, 2026, initially offering one weekly flight until the end of October. The return of both airlines is expected to increase the availability of direct flights between Israel and Morocco, especially ahead of the fall and holiday seasons. For travelers, this means renewed convenience with direct access to Morocco from Israel without intermediate stops.
