Air France Resumes Flights to Israel After Months of Suspension
French airline Air France is resuming its flights between Paris and Tel Aviv today after a prolonged suspension due to the security situation in Israel and the ongoing war. The airline had repeatedly postponed its return, with the latest announcement delaying the resumption until July 2. Following updated operational assessments, Air France is now reinstating the route, marking another step in the gradual return of foreign airlines to Ben Gurion Airport.
The first Air France flight is scheduled to land at Ben Gurion Airport at 14:45 local time, with a return flight to Paris later the same day. This resumption is significant for many travelers, as Air France is a major carrier connecting Israel to Europe and offers onward flights to numerous global destinations via Charles de Gaulle Airport.
Air France will operate the route using its flagship Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which features four service classes: economy, premium economy, business, and a luxury first class, considered among the most prestigious in the aviation industry.
This move aligns with a broader trend in recent weeks, with several foreign airlines such as Lufthansa, ITA Airways, and Air Baltic also restarting flights to Israel. This expansion increases flight options and strengthens Israel's international air connectivity after months of significant reductions. Aviation experts anticipate that if the security situation remains stable, more foreign carriers will announce the resumption of routes to Israel ahead of the summer travel season and peak vacation demand.
