Three Members of Northern Assassination Cell Charged with Double Murder in Golan Heights
A criminal indictment will be filed today against three members of a northern assassination cell for the double murder of Marwan Abu Shaheen and Saada Saada last month in the village of Buq'ata in the Golan Heights. According to the indictment, the three suspects fired at the car in which Shaheen and Saada were traveling. The night before the killing, the suspects rented a cabin in the village as part of their murder plan. The main suspect, a 19-year-old from Kiryat Shmona, was apprehended about a month later after shooting and seriously wounding another person he attempted to kill. He was arrested near the shooting scene by undercover officers and identified as one of the suspects in the double murder after his disguise was removed. Alongside him, a 43-year-old man from Sajur and a 28-year-old from Samia will also be charged in the case.
This week, Ibrahim Mandalawi, 30, was fatally shot in the village of Manda, with another 37-year-old man moderately injured. Police have launched an investigation and begun searching for suspects. Since the start of the year, 157 people have been murdered within the Arab community, with five others shot dead by police. Additionally, a 17-year-old will be charged with the murder of Yasser Abu al-Hija in a barbershop in Tamra, and a resident of Shfaram was shot dead just one month after witnessing an assassination.
