Eli-H Cohen and Ziv Avod Marry Amid Emotional Tribute to Nova Massacre Victims
Eli-H Cohen and Ziv Avod were married on Wednesday evening in a deeply moving ceremony marked by a poignant tribute to two victims of the October 7 Nova party massacre. As the couple approached the chuppah, the voices of Amit Yehuda Ben Abida and Yonatan Chai Azulai, who were killed after fleeing the attack, were heard blessing the newlyweds. The ceremony took place at Ronit Farm, with over a thousand family members and friends attending. The wedding was officiated by former Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Lau, and featured a performance of Amir Benayoun's song "You Conquered Everything With Me."
Amit Yehuda Ben Abida, 19, from Tel Aviv, and Yonatan Chai Azulai, 25, from Jerusalem, were both victims of the massacre near Kibbutz Re'im and Kibbutz Alumim, respectively. Their voices were played to honor their memory during the ceremony. Eli-H Cohen had recently returned to Israel after 505 days in captivity, during which Ziv tirelessly advocated for his release. The couple's wedding follows a decade-long relationship, with the week before the event marking their first meeting as bride and groom. The event was produced by Moran Spiegel and combined celebration with remembrance of the tragic losses from the Nova massacre.
