Netanyahu Edges Out Tal Gilboa in C14 Online Poll Following Party Primary Dispute

An online poll conducted by C14 asked over 1,300 participants to choose between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Knesset member Tal Gilboa following a public dispute between the two. Netanyahu won narrowly with 52.5% of the votes (694 votes) compared to Gilboa’s 47.5% (627 votes), a margin of just 67 votes.

The poll took place amid sharp criticism from Gilboa directed at Netanyahu after the Likud party primaries. Gilboa opposed Netanyahu’s plan to reserve a spot on the party list for Avi Dichter, who failed to secure a position in the primaries. She also criticized Netanyahu regarding the party’s democratic processes.

In a post earlier on the day of the poll, Gilboa urged Netanyahu to prioritize new faces and those who won in the primaries rather than reinstating candidates who lost. She suggested rearranging the reserved slots to promote primary winners to higher list positions and push those who failed further down. Gilboa also called on Netanyahu to give more opportunities to female Knesset members, warning that failing to do so could fuel criticism from the political left about gender exclusion within Likud.

This exchange highlights ongoing tensions within Likud ahead of the 2026 elections, with Gilboa positioning herself as a challenger to Netanyahu’s leadership style and candidate selections.
