Bnei Sakhnin Signs Midfielder Ilay Hajaj from Beitar Jerusalem for One Season
Bnei Sakhnin officially signed young midfielder Ilay Hajaj to a one-year contract as part of their squad strengthening efforts ahead of the upcoming season. Hajaj, previously under contract with Beitar Jerusalem, spent last season on loan at M.S. Ashdod. The club aims to leverage his attacking skills, as he can play both in midfield and on the wings, to enhance their performance in the top division.
Hajaj developed in Maccabi Haifa's youth system and gained recognition after strong performances with Hapoel Afula in the National League and later with Maccabi Haifa's senior squad. He was also part of Israel's youth national team that competed successfully in the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, which increased his exposure.
Bnei Sakhnin hopes this move will allow Hajaj to secure regular playing time and contribute significantly to the team's league objectives. The club is optimistic that his offensive abilities will be a key asset in the new season.
