IDF Strikes Hamas Nukhba Commanders Meeting Near Gaza Port

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out an attack on Tuesday evening targeting a gathering of Hamas Nukhba commanders in the Shati area near the Gaza port. The strike hit a meeting that included a platoon commander, three company commanders, and other militants involved in planning terrorist attacks against Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip. Palestinian reports stated that seven people were killed and 14 wounded in the attack, which took place at a café along Gaza City's coast.

The IDF confirmed that among those targeted was a militant who participated in the October 7 massacre and subsequently infiltrated Israeli territory. The military emphasized that measures were taken prior to the strike to minimize harm to civilians. The IDF said it would provide further updates on the operation's outcomes.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant commented on the strike, reiterating Israel's policy in Gaza as directed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: to eliminate threats, kill terrorists, and retaliate against anyone involved in the October 7 massacre. Gallant stated that the IDF's actions today reflect this policy and will continue with strength to protect Israeli soldiers and ensure security for southern communities within the security zone.
