Israeli Police Seek Public Help to Find Missing 24-Year-Old in Tiberias
Israeli police are urgently searching for 24-year-old Keteriel Nachman Keinan, who disappeared last week in Tiberias. Keinan was last seen on Monday, August 10, 2026, around 6 p.m. near the Gai Beach area in Tiberias. His family and police are deeply concerned for his safety as his disappearance is uncharacteristic.
Keinan was reportedly traveling to Safed and was last tracked by phone near Gai Beach on Monday evening. Surveillance footage captured him at the Tiberias central bus station walking toward the Tomb of Maimonides and then continuing on foot toward the Tomb of Rabbi Meir Baal Haness. However, the reason he was in Tiberias instead of Safed remains unclear.
His brother, Daniel Keinan, told N12 that Keteriel had last spoken to him on Sunday evening, mentioning a possible stop in Meron and that his phone battery was low. Keteriel was expected to meet his rabbi on Monday morning but never showed up or rescheduled. Police investigations revealed he spent the night at Mount Meron before boarding a bus to Safed, but his trail then led to Tiberias.
Search efforts involving police and volunteers continue in Tiberias, with Daniel emphasizing the unusual nature of his brother’s disappearance and the family’s growing worry. Keinan is described as approximately 1.74 meters tall, with black hair, a beard, and brown eyes. When last seen, he wore a white shirt, black suit, a hat, and carried a black backpack and a dark brown tefillin bag.
The public is urged to report any information to the Beit Shemesh police station at 02-9902384 or call the national emergency number 100 to assist in locating Keinan.
