Metula Council Head Says Gunfire and Explosions Woke Residents, Urges Action Against Hezbollah

Metula local council head David Azoulay said in an interview with ynet studio that residents woke up Friday morning to gunfire and explosions. He described the situation as part of what he called the current "peace," and said he was saddened that Israel was again falling into the same trap.

Azoulay argued that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not acting in the interest of Israeli citizens. He said the security situation in northern Israel is now "much worse" than it was before October 7, 2023.

He said Israel needs to end the issue with Hezbollah "once and for all" and expressed hope that Netanyahu would come to his senses. His remarks came amid renewed tension in the north, which he presented as evidence that the area remains under threat.
