Noam Party Accuses Shas of Copying Election Campaign Slogan
The Noam party has sent a legal warning letter to Shas CEO and Knesset member Haim Biton, accusing Shas of launching an election campaign that copies Noam's slogan. Noam claims Shas's new campaign, featuring the slogan "I Chose the Path of Faith," is nearly identical to Noam's own campaign launched a day earlier under the slogan "On the Path of Faith I Chose." The letter, sent through attorney Eldad Rabinovitch, argues that the similarity could mislead voters and damage Noam's unique message. Noam's campaign emphasizes strengthening Israel's Jewish identity, especially in light of recent events such as Operation Sword of Iron. Shas's campaign also focuses on faith and unity within Israel, highlighting the connection to belief in God and Jewish identity. Noam alleges that Shas's use of a similar slogan falsely suggests cooperation between the parties in efforts to protect Jewish identity, undermining Noam's distinctiveness and wasting its campaign resources. Noam demands that Shas remove the campaign by noon the following day, warning that failure to comply will lead to legal action. Noam's campaign targets the traditional and Haredi electorate, promoting faith, judicial reform, Torah preservation, ethical education, equitable funding, and honest public servants. Noam expressed disappointment, expecting fair competition from fellow right-wing religious bloc members but accusing Shas of deceptive tactics that harm their campaign.
