Likud Sends Legal Warning to Gadi Eizenkot’s Party Over Altered Campaign Ad

The Likud party’s legal advisor, Attorney Ilan Bombach, issued a cease-and-desist letter to Gadi Eizenkot’s party, "Yashar! with Eizenkot," over a digitally altered billboard originally from a Likud campaign. The original billboard featured figures including Gadi Eizenkot, Yair Golan, Ali Hmeini, and Ahmad Tibi with the message, "They want Netanyahu to lose, don’t let them win." Eizenkot’s party modified the message to read, "They want the IDF to collapse, don’t let Netanyahu win," accompanied by a post stating, "Yashar! with Eizenkot. Netanyahu, fixed for you. Only Eizenkot will form a full Zionist conscription government."

Likud claims this constitutes illegal election propaganda, citing unauthorized use and alteration of their campaign material and the fact that the post was promoted as a paid ad on social media, which they argue violates election laws. The party demands the immediate removal of the advertisement from all media and social platforms by Monday at noon. If the demand is not met, Likud threatens to petition the chairman of the Central Elections Committee to issue an order banning further publication.

This legal confrontation follows previous actions by Likud against other campaign materials they consider unlawful, including a cease-and-desist letter sent in late July concerning a pro-Eizenkot publication. The dispute highlights escalating tensions between the two parties ahead of the elections.
