Firefighters Deploy Planes to Contain Waste Site Blaze Near Yaara in Northern Israel
Firefighters and the Elad firefighting air squadron are actively combating a fire that broke out at a waste disposal site near the community of Yaara in northern Israel. The blaze, which has engulfed approximately four dunams of land, was reported early Tuesday morning to the Fire and Rescue Services' emergency center.
Reinforced teams from the Zebulun station, supported by regional forces from Haifa and Kiryat stations and volunteers from the "Fire Chariots" unit, have been working since morning to control the fire. Firefighters are tackling the blaze on two fronts, northern and southern, focusing on preventing its spread to the adjacent natural woodland and pine forest.
In addition to ground efforts, four aircraft from the Elad firefighting squadron are conducting aerial drops of fire retardant over the affected area to help contain the fire. The coordinated response aims to halt the fire's expansion and protect the surrounding environment.
