Jared Kushner Visits Jerusalem Restaurant, Leaves Generous Tip
Jared Kushner, son-in-law of former U.S. President Donald Trump, visited Naya restaurant in the Jerusalem hills on Monday evening with a delegation of eight people, including Ron Dermer, former Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister and ambassador to the U.S. The restaurant staff was informed only about 30 minutes before their arrival through coordination with the Israeli Foreign Ministry. Kushner and his group were seated in a private room connected to an outdoor area near a decorative pool. Initially, the delegation requested no other diners be seated nearby, but later allowed the restaurant to continue seating guests in the adjacent area.
The American presence was noticeable in the parking lot, with large U.S. vehicles and security personnel attracting attention. Most diners did not see Kushner directly as he remained in the private room, but they noticed the security detail. During the meal, Kushner gave an interview to Fox News and held a private conversation with Ron Dermer. The delegation stayed for the meal and discussion before leaving shortly before Kushner’s interview.
Kushner, who does not like sushi, chose other dishes, while the rest of the group enjoyed various specials including sushi and fish. At the end of the meal, Kushner personally thanked the staff and expressed his enjoyment. According to an employee, Kushner paid with his personal card and left a very generous tip exceeding 35 percent. The staff described him as very kind and personable, noting, "In the end, this guy runs the world."
