Israeli Man Dies in Peruvian Prison After Three and a Half Years Incarcerated
A 62-year-old Israeli citizen from Petah Tikva has died in a prison in Peru after being incarcerated there for approximately three and a half years. Following the notification of his death, the international unit of ZAKA, in cooperation with the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, began coordinating with the deceased's family and Peruvian authorities. Their goal is to complete all necessary procedures and repatriate the body to Israel for burial as soon as possible. Yossi Landau, the ZAKA commander for the Lachish region, stated that the organization is supporting the family and working with local officials to ensure the deceased receives a dignified burial.
