Michal and Tal Marry at Shaare Zedek Hospital to Include Michal’s Mother in ICU
Michal and Tal decided to move up their wedding date to allow Michal’s mother, Chana, who is hospitalized in the surgical intensive care unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, to attend the ceremony. Due to Chana’s critical condition and continuous need for high-flow oxygen, the couple held the wedding close to her hospital room.
To enable Chana’s participation without interrupting her treatment, Shaare Zedek staff adapted a specialized high-flow oxygen device, unique to the center, which provides continuous oxygen supply via a long-lasting battery. This device improved her oxygen saturation levels and allowed her to leave the ICU temporarily.
The wedding was organized by the hospital’s Department of Religious Services, the Respiratory Care Unit, and the surgical ICU medical and nursing teams. Chana was escorted by respiratory staff, led by Michal Shitrit, from the ICU to the wedding venue.
The ceremony took place in the surgical department’s family area, where dozens of relatives and friends gathered to celebrate, embrace the couple, and wish Chana a speedy recovery.
