Police Solve Murder of Israeli Barber in Family-Related Shooting in Tamra
Israeli police have solved the murder of 34-year-old Yasser Abu Elhija, a barber from Tamra, who was fatally shot at his workplace about a month ago. The investigation revealed that a 17-year-old assailant arrived at the barbershop on an electric bicycle armed with a handgun and fired at two victims. Initially, police explored multiple leads focusing on both shooting victims, but after several days, they concentrated on a violent family dispute connected to a client who was seriously injured in the attack.
Approximately ten days later, investigators recovered the electric bicycle, helmet, and clothing used by the shooter, which had been hidden inside a container. Following the completion of the investigation phase, the Haifa District Prosecutor's Office plans to file charges and request the detention of the two suspects until the conclusion of legal proceedings at the Haifa District Court.
