Strategist Ronen Tzur Enters Democratic Party Primary Race
Strategic consultant Ronen Tzur announced on Sunday evening that he will run in the primaries of the Democrats party ahead of the upcoming election. The announcement was made in front of activists from his “Victory Machine” movement, which Tzur founded.
Tzur, 56, said he wants a slate made up only of “fighters,” with no fringe figures, corruption suspects, or people with “extreme agendas.” He said the coming election is “not a matter of rhetoric or soft politics, but of recognizing power, energy and commitment to the state.”
He also said he believes the Democrats could win at least 17 Knesset seats and that Yair Golan could be appointed defense minister. Tzur has prior parliamentary experience, having served as a Knesset member for the Labor Party in the 16th Knesset.
Over the years, Tzur has led several public movements and initiatives, including the headquarters for the families of hostages and missing persons, which he founded after the October 7 attack and left in February 2024. He has also been a sharp critic of the government and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
