Ronen Tzur Drops Democratic Party Primary Bid, Accuses Party of Dark Tactics

Ronen Tzur, the former head of the hostages' headquarters, said in a Wednesday interview with Channel 12 that he will not run in the upcoming primary of the Democrats party. His announcement ends his participation before the internal race even begins.

Tzur also launched a sharp attack on the party’s faction, comparing it to Hadash MK Ofer Cassif. He said, “If I thought I was coming to a merger of the Labor Party and Meretz and I find a place close to Ofer Cassif and Hadash, a place that deals in dark methods, I cannot find a home in this place.”

The comments suggest growing friction between Tzur and the party leadership over its political identity and internal conduct. No further response from the Democrats was included in the report.
