New Alon Moreh Yeshiva Branch Opens on Mount Ebal with Historic Elul Study Period

The newly established branch of the Alon Moreh Yeshiva on Mount Ebal has opened its first Elul study period, marking a historic moment for the institution. The event took place on Sunday with the presence of the yeshiva head Rabbi Aviad Shinwell, Knesset member Tzvi Sukkot from the Religious Zionist party, and Alon Moreh's CEO Elisaf Pershan, who all came to bless the students at the start of their studies.

Tzvi Sukkot reflected on the transformation of the site over recent years, recalling that about five years ago, Yom Kippur prayers were held there in a makeshift military tent, with limited access coordinated through the IDF. He described the current situation, where students study in proper facilities, as a "dream of generations coming true." Sukkot emphasized the significance of Torah study on Mount Ebal, the biblical site where the Israelites first entered and began to conquer the land under Joshua. He highlighted the location as symbolic for nurturing Torah that supports the settlement and development of the land, calling for leaders who study the "Torah of redemption."

Rabbi Shinwell expressed deep excitement about opening the study period on Mount Ebal, describing the yeshiva as fostering a living connection to the nation’s deepest roots and producing students who live with strength, faith, and dedication. Elisaf Pershan shared his emotional experience entering the new study hall and hearing Torah study, calling it a realization of a long-held dream. He noted the significant efforts invested by the institution to establish the branch and affirmed that the sounds of Torah study prove the endeavor was worthwhile.

This new branch on Mount Ebal represents a milestone in the expansion of Alon Moreh Yeshiva and its mission to strengthen Torah learning in historically and spiritually significant locations in Israel.
