New Alon Moreh Yeshiva Opens on Mount Ebal, Marking a Historic Milestone

Students of the new branch of the Alon Moreh Yeshiva inaugurated the Elul study period at the newly established Beit Midrash atop Mount Ebal on Sunday. The event was attended by Knesset Member Tzvi Sukkot, Yeshiva head Rabbi Aviad Shinwell, and the institution's leadership, who celebrated the realization of a long-held dream and the significant civilian transformation in the area.

Knesset Member Sukkot reflected on the dramatic change in the region's security and civilian status over recent years, recalling that five years ago, Yom Kippur prayers were held in a makeshift military tent requiring security coordination just to access the site. He expressed deep emotion seeing students now studying there openly.

Rabbi Shinwell emphasized the profound connection students develop to the nation's roots through Torah study in this location, describing it as "pure Land of Israel Torah" that links heaven and earth and fosters a generation of committed, strong, and faithful learners.

Alon Moreh institutions' CEO Elisaf Pershan highlighted the extensive efforts invested to establish the yeshiva on Mount Ebal and expressed satisfaction hearing the sounds of Torah study, affirming that the endeavor was worthwhile. This development symbolizes a significant step in strengthening Jewish presence and education in the area.
