Trump Sends Envoys to Netanyahu as Race to Save Gaza Plan Intensifies

Their mission is to prevent the collapse of Trump's Gaza plan, which aims to disarm Hamas and other factions, transfer control to a new Palestinian authority, and gradually withdraw Israeli forces based on progress. The effort comes amid political challenges for Netanyahu, who faces criticism during Israel's election period due to the plan's required Israeli withdrawals and fears it could alienate voters.

Simultaneously, a Hamas delegation led by Khalil al-Hayya is conducting talks in Egypt ahead of Kushner's arrival. Reports indicate that during Kushner's visit, Hamas negotiators will meet with American officials to advance the roadmap for Gaza. Hamas has expressed commitment to the plan, contingent on Israel's reciprocal dedication, while the Israeli government remains cautious about the framework.

Diplomatic sources reveal that the U.S. administration understands Netanyahu's position and prefers to wait until after the Israeli elections and the formation of a new government before fully implementing the agreement. Meanwhile, Washington seeks to reduce Israeli military operations to prevent the deal's collapse. Kushner is also expected to meet mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey in Cairo to push forward the initiative.
