Guy Maroz Says Ehud Barak Should Be Jailed Over Violent Remark

During a live segment on the Israeli TV program "The Patriots" on Sunday, panelist Guy Maroz sharply criticized what he called extreme voices on the left and said he does not share claims that Benjamin Netanyahu poses an imminent threat to democracy. Maroz said that while Netanyahu may lose at the ballot box, he is not threatening the democratic process itself.

The most heated moment came when Maroz referred to a past remark attributed to Ehud Barak, in which Barak spoke about removing a prime minister with "sticks and stones." Maroz said anyone who made such a statement should be prosecuted and jailed. "Whoever said that should be in prison starting tomorrow, that is not even a question," he said.

His comments drew loud applause from the studio audience and support from other panelists. Yinon Magal backed Maroz's call for firm enforcement and named prominent protest activist Gonen Ben Yitzhak among those he said should be arrested and questioned quickly.
