Amir Segal Warns the Netanyahu Trump Rift Could Be the Toughest Yet

Political commentator Amir Segal spoke Sunday evening about the tense conversation between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump after the Israeli strike in Lebanon. The exchange drew attention because Trump was reported to have reacted angrily to the Israeli move, suggesting it disrupted possible diplomatic progress.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump said a deal could have been reached “within two hours, or three,” and claimed he had told Netanyahu, “What the hell are you doing?!” According to additional reports, he also lashed out in conversations with reporters, saying, “Why did Bibi launch such an attack?! It made me very angry, I could not believe it happened, he has no fucking judgment!”

Segal responded to those remarks by warning, “This could be the hardest confrontation of them all.” The comments came in the context of the Israeli action in Lebanon and the resulting strain in Netanyahu’s ties with Trump.
