Bnei Akiva Schools in West Bank Outperform Comparable Institutions in Bagrut Eligibility

New data from Israel's Ministry of Education reveals that nine out of ten Bnei Akiva educational institutions in the West Bank significantly surpass comparable schools in their matriculation (Bagrut) eligibility rates. The 2023-2024 academic year statistics show striking gaps, with some Bnei Akiva schools achieving near-perfect or perfect eligibility rates compared to around 78% in similar schools.

For example, the Bnei Akiva Ulpana in Rosh Tzurim recorded a 100% Bagrut eligibility rate, while comparable schools stood at 78%. The Bnei Akiva Yeshiva in Mateh Binyamin reached 98%, and the Ulpana in Shiloh achieved 96%, both well above the 78% benchmark of similar institutions. Other Bnei Akiva schools across the region, including those in Efrat, Eli, Atarot, Halamish, Neria, and Hashmonaim, also demonstrated high eligibility rates.

Elhanan Gelet, CEO of the Bnei Akiva Yeshivot and Ulpanot Center, attributed these achievements to the schools’ integration of academic excellence with a strong connection to Torah, the people of Israel, and the land. He emphasized the network’s mission to cultivate a confident generation that aspires to contribute positively to Israeli society. Gelet described the schools’ location in a historically and nationally significant area as a source of pride and responsibility.

These results highlight the educational success of Bnei Akiva institutions in the West Bank, reflecting both high academic standards and a commitment to cultural and national values. The network continues to focus on nurturing students who excel academically while maintaining a deep connection to their heritage and community.
