Israeli Mixed 4x100 Medley Relay Team Sets National Record at European Swimming Championships
The Israeli mixed 4x100 meter medley relay team set a new national record at the European Swimming Championships on August 16, 2026. The team, composed of Tom Minis, Anastasia Gorbienko, Lea Polonsky, and Daria Golovaty, finished the heats with a time of 4:02.19, improving the previous Israeli record by 0.24 seconds, which was set in Singapore last year. Despite this achievement, the team placed tenth overall and did not advance to the final.
Tom Minis, who swam the backstroke leg, recorded a personal best of 1:00.48, marking another milestone after breaking her personal best twice earlier in the championship and meeting the Israeli qualifying standard for the 2027 World Championships. In individual events, Daria Golovaty finished 14th in the 400-meter freestyle heats with a time of 4:14.81, while Yoav Romano placed 27th in the same event with 3:52.43.
The Israeli men's 4x100 meter medley relay team, consisting of Tomer Shuster, Mark Teller, Daniel Kritchevski, and Alexey Glivinsky, finished 16th in the heats with a time of 3:36.57 and did not qualify for the final.
