IDF Uncovers Massive Hamas and Hezbollah Weapons Cache Including Nazi-Era German Guns

During a rare tour granted to Fox News at the IDF base in Tzrifin, the Israeli military revealed a vast arsenal seized from Hamas and Hezbollah terrorist groups. The cache includes missiles, drones, mortars, and various weapons sourced from Iran, Russia, China, as well as locally produced arms in Lebanon and Gaza. Among the unusual finds were Nazi-era German weapons, specifically an MG 34 machine gun and an MP 44 assault rifle (StG 44), bearing the Nazi eagle and swastika insignia, confiscated from a Hezbollah terror compound in Lebanon.

Lieutenant Colonel (res.) Idan Sharon Katler, deputy commander of the IDF's Ordnance Disposal Unit in the Technology and Logistics Directorate, explained that Hezbollah militants, backed by Iran, used these Nazi weapons for propaganda or morale purposes. Despite the ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024, IDF forces continue to discover numerous weapons in southern Lebanon.

The extensive cache also included Egyptian motorcycles used in the kidnapping of Israelis on October 7, 2023, Hezbollah off-road vehicles modified to carry anti-tank missiles, hundreds of mortars, and dozens of artillery pieces manufactured in Iran and Russia, aimed from Lebanese villages. Additionally, Austrian sniper rifles and their Iranian variants, assault rifles, drones, and professional military gear such as uniforms produced in Syria, China, and Lebanon were seized.
