Thousands Gather for First Selichot Prayers of the Year at Western Wall
The traditional Selichot prayers for the Hebrew year 5786 began at the Western Wall plaza on Saturday night, marking the start of the month of mercy and forgiveness. Thousands of worshippers participated in the event, which is held annually to usher in this solemn period. During the prayers, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch, the Rabbi of the Western Wall and holy sites, delivered heartfelt prayers for the unity of the Israeli people, the safety of IDF soldiers and security forces, and for peace and security in Israel.
