Manor Solomon Credits Yossi Benayoun for Advising West Ham Move

Manor Solomon revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail that he consulted former Israeli football star Yossi Benayoun before transferring to West Ham United. Solomon described Benayoun as his idol and praised him as one of the best Israeli footballers alongside Eyal Berkovic. He recalled training with Benayoun and sharing a locker room, calling the experience amazing and highlighting Benayoun's successful career in the English Premier League with clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, and West Ham.

Solomon, a winger, said he looked up to Benayoun, who also played as a winger and number 10, and was inspired by his journey from the small Israeli town of Dimona to top English clubs. When considering his options, Solomon sought Benayoun's advice on the best fit for his career, and Benayoun recommended West Ham, believing Solomon suited English football well. Benayoun had two spells at West Ham, helping the team reach the 2006 FA Cup final and returning on loan from Chelsea in 2012.

Solomon also admitted he was unaware of the intense rivalries among London clubs, including West Ham, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Chelsea. He acknowledged the strong animosity between these teams but emphasized his focus on performing at his best regardless of the club's rivalries or his background. Solomon expressed determination to give his maximum effort at West Ham, the club he joined following Benayoun's recommendation.
