Parents Council Supports Givat Shmuel Mayor in Dispute Over Bnei Akiva Yeshiva Future

The Parents Council of the Bnei Akiva Yeshiva in Givat Shmuel issued a sharp letter today backing Mayor Yossi Brodny amid a deepening legal and public dispute with the Bnei Akiva Yeshiva Center regarding the yeshiva's future campus. The council fully supports the mayor's demand to ensure the yeshiva's stability and educational quality, citing years of neglect and poor maintenance alongside high parental fees. They credit the municipality's involvement under Brodny's leadership with drastically reducing fees, renovating buildings, and investing in educational projects.

The current crisis escalated after the yeshiva center reportedly refused to respond to a new fair agreement draft focused solely on educational needs, submitted by the municipality. The Parents Council expressed serious concern over attempts to advance real estate developments on "brown areas" designated for public use, emphasizing that the yeshiva campus is a public educational resource, not a commercial asset.

In response, the council demands three immediate actions from the Bnei Akiva Yeshiva Center: an immediate return to transparent and responsible negotiations with the municipality, guarantees for oversight ensuring fair parental fees and spacious classrooms, and absolute preservation of the yeshiva's full campus area exclusively for educational purposes. Signed by Parents Council Chair Yanki Abramovitch and members, the letter calls to prioritize students' welfare above all and pledges continued close cooperation with the municipality for the yeshiva's future.
